Immigration Paralegal at Law Offices of Julio Henríquez

Job Summary*
Working on a fast-paced full-service immigration practice, there is never a dull moment. At this office, we represent asylum seekers in court and before USCIS, request bonds for detained individuals, process cancellation of removal applications, handle adjustment of status, and request nonimmigrant visas for migrants with multiple backgrounds. The immigration paralegal will have the opportunity to support the office in all of these procedures, among many others.
Job Responsibilities
o Help prepare applications for adjustment of status, affirmative asylum, DACA, TPS,
U-visa, T-visa, VAWA, O-1 visas, and EB-1, among others.
o Conduct client intakes.
o Communicate with clients to understand their shifting needs.
o Work on cases related to removal proceedings, supporting the attorney with court filings.
o Review pending cases and comb through the evidence to identify needs for updated filings based on new legal decisions or policies.
o Attend legal clinics and work with community organizations.
Job Skills & Qualifications Required
o Bachelor’s degree
o Fluency in Spanish Preferred
o Law student (JD or LLM)
o Experience in legal settings
o Background in immigration law
o Fluency in Portuguese or other languages
